Testimonials from Missionaries
To enable lay people to revitalize their identity as missionaries, Guadalupe Gardens has formed a network with partner organizations working for the common good. Guadalupe Gardens welcomes missionaries from all walks of life who bring into the service of God their different charisms, skills, and talents. The following are what some missionaries have got to say:
Orphans
& Neighborhood Youth
In our town, two institutions cater to disadvantaged young boys and girls (Los Quinchos and Las Yahoskas). Some of our missionaries dedicate their time with them and the neighborhood youth, building genuine relationships through friendship evangelization.
Feeding Program by the Carmelites
This program aims to address hunger and malnutrition among impoverished schoolchildren by augmenting their diet. Volunteers take turns cooking healthy lunches.
School for Persons with Disabilities
Antorcha is a learning institution that works to integrate persons with disabilities into society and the work force as productive citizens. Missionaries interact and work alongside persons with Down Syndrome, autism, and deaf-mutes and experience the world from their perspective.
